Ah Lay of Victoria in the Province aforesaid taken on this 10 day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty four at Victoria in the Province aforesaid before the undersigned one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said Province in the presence and hearing of Guy Wah Shue, Ah Keung, Ah Kow, Yip Mong Guen & Pown Shuk who is this day charged before me, the deponent Ah Lay upon his oath deposeth and saith as follows: I went down Fitzgard Street on Tuesday evening last and saw fighting there.
