The information and complaint of Arthur Taylor of Victoria in the Colony aforesaid , taken this 14th day of march in the year of our lord one thousand eight and sixty six be fore me Augustus Pemberton Esq. one of her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said Colony of Vancouver Island and its Dependencies, who being sworn upon his oath, saith   on the morning of the twenty eighth of February last past I was on duty at Swan Lake near Victoria in the colony aforesaid in the house in which I arrested the prisoner  charged with having committed  the robbery  at Mr Coplands. I found the bag which I produced in court, in it I found some pieces of silk, produced which stolen from the house of Mr. J.D. Pemberton  corresponded with some stolen from the house of Mr.J.D. Pemberton sometime since the prisoner Kim Foo told me at the time he was arrested that the bag was his property. I charged the prisoner Kim Foo with receving the silk well knowing the same to have been stolen.
