It was not [illegible] in the face. I have no idea as what? cause of this explosion. I have been mining for thirty three years and have been working in [illegible] slope twenty two months. I have mined in England. When I came first I started timbering? in number two level? and then I worked it timbering? in the old slopes. I first worked in the face of the new slope on January tenth. I have never encountered a "[illegible]" in this mine. I have seen feeders? I have seen the efforts of
