An Inquisition indented taken at Victoria British Columbia, the thirty first day of July - in the 49th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, before me, Edwin Johnson, gentleman, one of the Coroners for our Lady the Queen, for the Province - aforesaid, upon the view of the body of Lee Sam Hock and Hong Fook at Cadborough Bay near Victoria aforesaid and withesaid Province then and there and within the jurisdiction said Coroner, lying dead, upon the oaths of -William Brown, Foreman - John Begg - Frank Campbell Junior - William Beckford - William Crosson - Thomas Davies good and lawful men of Victoria - aforesaid, in the said Province, who being now here sworn and charged to enquire, on the part of our said Lady the Queen, when, where, how and after what manner, the said Lee Sam Hock and Wong Fooh came to his death, do say upon their oath, that the said
