April 28th: So today our new cook is on his way up: he is altogether different man gets on his work twice as quickly and cleanly as the other one.
Our new cook sketched from life.
He is a native of Market Harborough, Leicestershire and served his time as baker in the old country. Bakes all his bread and pies in camp kettles made of iron and
