Downton enlists in Fusiliers

2 TUESDAY [33-332]

Purification of V. Mary. Candlemas.

Scottish Quarter Day

Medically examined, attested & put on Orders with 30th Battalion as No 1129 - obtain part of equipment.

3 WEDNESDAY [34-331]

Placed in No 2 Company - No 5 Platoon. Section 2.

In morning obtain all equipment except puttees and badges. Practice rear guard action in afternoon. Night march cancelled on account of rain
