Jack used to speak of you so often in his letters when you were both in the forests and after in England. A long interesting letter you wrote him from the trenches he sent to me asking me to keep it for him till he came home neither of you then thought this war could have lasted so long.

He wrote about being with you in London Xmas a year ago and of you going to the theatre together. He felt you had been in the trenches so long suffering hardship and that your ability and training had not been recognized and was so pleased when you got your well earned commission said you could show most
