Wednd Dec 13th - discharged from military convalescent hospital, Esquimalt.

16th Public meeting Royal Victoria theatre - premier Borden slow speaker with curious nervous shrugs. Bennett (Director-General National Services) very fluent - scheme does not appear to me practicable.

21st Survey on Saanich Road under Hoakes - turns out miserable day - rain & sleet, but stick it out altho soaked - worst day this week. Lunch with a Mrs. Patterson - husband with the 67th - no wonder judging from her tongue.

Xmas day 25th. Compromise on roast pork @24cts the lb contra turkey 45cts. Mr. & Mrs. Driver to dinner, walk with former to breakwater - take children to pantomime "Puss in Boots" at the Royal Victoria - tiring day glad it is over.

29th at office - dept reference receipt for surveys under new "Soldier Homestead Act"

30th at office - Kollings in evening. registration cards for National Service delivered by postman.

31st All day on private accounts.
