All day sailing up the St. Lawrence - foggy morning - Quebec at noon - very much disappointed with Citadel - Wolfe's Cove - gently sloping & no towering heights at all. Pass scene of accident big bridge - no wreckage as river very deep. Lighted streets of Three River look queer after England.

Arrive at Montreal early morning - met at boat by Wm. Forster - spend an hour at his home in Fairmont. Arrive Toronto in evening & go out to Sheffield's - leave Toronto 10:30 pm.

Near Towassan, Muskoka at daybreak - North Bend 9 am. Barren rocky country with countless lakes all day - Cobalt quite considerable town. Pass large interment camp late in evening.
