SS Ascania Belleisle

Splendid sunny day - 350 miles of Cape Farewell Greenland & 284 from Belle Isle at noon. Shoal of porpoise passed in morning. Miss Agatha Allen c/o Guy Allen F W Ontario.

Pass large iceberg 4 pm & make Belle Isle 9 pm - channel considerable drift ice. Very cold & considerable sea and fog (Newfoundland coast) makes me think of Jack Mitchell - a remarkable coincidence in view of Jack Mitchell - killed in action today. Capt 1/8/City of London M.C.

Through straits by morning and islands & Labrador coast to North out of sight of land rest of day - Anticosti at dark. Reach Rimouski & Father Point at dark.
