To W.O. endeavoring to get leave straightened out - papers mislaid at Coy. office- new hospital - hurriedly buy new mufti - Bennett. I lunch with Young.

Bennett comes to Tilbury with me - board "Ascania" Cunarder at noon - 40 2d & 30 3rd class . Anchor off Deal at 5 pm - surrounded by shipping, mostly neutral. Awaiting Admiralty orders.

At anchor all day. 2 Lt. Lighthall 3rd Dorset Regt. I next Captain. 5 yrs. Mauretania. Shipping numerous - destroyers & trawlers continually passing. 2 Zeps overhead 9 pm.
