24 March (20 to 22) 20 Monday (80-286) 3rd Month 1916

Drove to Neyland 19 miles by motor

Arrive Fishguard 3 pm + walk around until dark - interesting hilly country - Cross to Rosslare 2 am - very poor steamer accomodation. - Without lights for fear of submarines - Extensive quays being built at Fishguard - large concrete block.

21 Tuesday (81-285)

Arrive Wexford 7:30 + miss train for Dublin. Raining but walk out in country to a very pretty river flanked on one side by a ruined square tower + on the other by a tall round tower with a conical roof, in perfect condition. Wexford narrow dirty streets.

22 Wednesday (82-284)

Arrive Dublin 8:30 - splendid scenery around Wicklow - travel with R.F.A. Lieut. + old S. Magistrate - who had been on San Juan Island as a boy. 23:00 - Ganley household - old folks. Two boys Kathleen (16) + harry adopted (12) + Mary Ann Noble (27) schoolmistress - Two dogs + a somnolescent cat. Evening rather 'slow' party at the Sodens. Miss Douglas - a ver vivacious girl calls from Virginia (Cowan)
