Received 50 fr. from Corps Paymaster

Col. Mitchell Tells me he has sent in applications for staff-pay ($2.00) per day for me.

No chance at all for me with the

Canadians except I take an infantry commission - He will do what he can with The Imperials.

Get some was post-cards for Ada

at a little estaminat, Rue de l'Occident. -Givency & Messines- These views shake me all to pieces - am nearly chucking up my job and asking the Colonel to send me back to the trenches Cant stand this draughting much longer!

Yesterday get a run down to

Battalion Transport - Find my stripes get me for different treatment from The Corp QM. - He is almost obsequious - Queer place this army with all its cringing, fawning before superiors.
