Well Mother I must stop now as I'm scribbling too much This should arrive about Xmas time, so I send my very best wishes to you and Pa and Uncle Bill for a Merry Xmas; mind you celebrate the occasion in the good old style, a bottle of two of good old crusted. I hope next Xmas will see us all celebrating together. You can think of me putting away the odd glass full, on the Rhine this Xmas!

Au revoir and much love from your loving son

E. Pilkington G.

Ever so many thanks again Mother for the splendid pr socks, they are a fine example of your handiwork.
