Canadian Machine Gun Depôt Seaford, Sussex

Well old man I wish we were going to have our annual hunt together after the wily "Blues". I suppose when you get this the season will be just beginning. I hope at any rate you will have some decent sport, how does the season promise are there lots of birds about. You didn't tell me in any of your letters whether you had seen many round Grouse Nest. I hope the shavers necks from town won't [illegible] the place silly. I bet Eric Todd will "snatch a few moments" from the office & get away for the opening of the season! Well D.V. & W.P. we may all have a big shoot together season 1919, at any rate we will live in hope of it. A nice camp somewhere & plenty of booze, eh what?
