Jan 31. Wed. Ger sends a memoranda to neutrals to effect that from tomorrow they intend to sink all ships returning or leaving a zone drawn round British Isles.

Feb 2. Thurs. Card fr Tottie.

Feb 3. Sat. (America breaks off dipl relations with Ger.) Card from Mrs Davies.

Feb 2. Fri. Got a standard parcel from the "Relief Committee in Camps".

Feb 4. Sun. Posted family letter to T. & card to Mrs Davies. Bitterly cold 23 Celsius this a.m. below freezing.

Feb 5. Mon. Card fr T.

Feb 6. Tues. Recd second Red Cross parcel food from local relief committee.

Feb 7. Wed. Got parcel bread fr Denmark

Feb 8. Thurs. Second anniversary of my advent into Ruhleben. Got bottle "Friar balsam" for chilblains from Tottie.

Feb 9. Fri. Card from T.

Feb 10. Sat. Got second parcel of bread (2 loaves) from Denmark. American Ambas. Gerard left Berlin at 8.30 p.m.
