appeared to be a cheerful as possible under the circumstances. Old major Gaskell was released this eve. I took him in a Droschke from the jail to the "Guide" office where his friends the Perrys were waiting for him. This morning received invitation to wedding of Miss Marian Rogers to Mr. Jas. D. Erskine. They are to be married on Nov. 14. in New York.

Nov. 14. Lord Roberts died in France where he had gone to see his old Indian troops. He died of pneumonia(?)

Nov. 16 This p.m. we were notified at the police Headquarters that all English people must remove themselves to a distance of 20 kilometers from Dresden, but not to a number of places which have been specified, and within 10 days.

Nov. 17. Max. R. arrived fr Berlin. We had supper with [Fal. Miors]

Nov 18 Max left for Berlin p.m.
