early this a.m. He asked a lot of questions about myself but seemed to have taken no steps to find the person who had written the anon. letter. German victories over the French & Russians reported every day. They seem to have no losses. A few letters from America seem to have reached here today. Sent a letter written in English, and enclosed in an envelope addressed to the Am. Ambassador in Berlin, to mother today.

Aug 26. More Ger. Victories over the Russians reported. Up at Meiers in p.m. Saw a lot of the "Baudsturum" arriving at Babuhof in eve. They marched down Strehluer Str. with their
