Aug 16. Sunday. Dined at Meiers. Tea with Herr and Frau Schoefeld. Afterwards walked with them to the "Jagerhaus" near Rabenauer grund & then to Hainsbrug & home by train. [illegible] Welwood at American Ch. made a point of leaving out the prayer for the King of Gr. Brit & Ireland etc. Great indignation among Engl. worshippers at the Ch.

Aug 17. Crowds of men "ruelding" themselves at the Rathaus opposite my window all the morning. Toltie has a bad eye. Tea at the Warrens. Making sketches of Street scenes for "Salonblatt". The [Pfotinhauer] family removed out to Klotysche.
