between Austria & Serbia, or rather between Teuton & Slav, have been brought at last to a head. Russia is mobilising in order to protect Servia. Germany is making active preparations to back up her ally Austria. France is mobilising to assist Russia and at the same time seize the opportunity to get at her old enemy Germany. This is a brief free-hand sketch of this fateful summer of 1914. Here in Dresden the people are naturally excited. Thousands parade the streets at night singing patriotic songs. These crowds are composed very largely of youths & boys, with a sprinkling of women & girls.
