WAGONLIEU-DANEUILLE-WARLUS & back to DUISANS. Roads very dusty. Lovely weather. Terrific bombardment on practically all day. Capt Slade called & took tea with us. Wrote Marjorie. Very busy all day. Co. P.M. walked with 2nd Lieu Peterson & Corp C. Malan to top of hill to see our bombardment. Sky simply on fire & guns roaring as a huge earthquake.

May 4 Lovely day. Very busy. Had two cakes from Mrs. & Mr. A. Thomas. Guns very busy through the early morning. In the evening one of our own gas dumps let loose. Parading with our Gas Helmets. Every one quite excited. Was in middle of having a bath when alarm sounded.

May 5th. Weather changing. Quiet during day. Active artillery at night. Paid up to date for kitchen.

May 6th Sunday. Quite cold but clear. Very busy with orderly room, etc. Had a letter from M. Her brother was killed at MONCHY while leading his Coy into action instantaneously. Had
