pay of Coy. Saw my men who are working between DEAD MAN'S Corner & the ARRAS-DOULLONS Road. Saw what was left of the Cathedral. Very busy all day. Sent photos to M. Shelled again at night. No damage done.

April 28th Walked to ARNEZ & on to WARLUS back to DUISANS & on to WAGONLIEU & back. Still nice weather. Again heavy firing. Saw Capt Jackson R.E. & Lieut Edmonds R.E. DUISANS again shelled only by duds. Wrote M. Weather changing.

April 29th Sunday. Very busy all day. Paid out in afternoon. Saw nice aeroplane fight. My C.S.M. & I both taken to be spies because we look above so much & talk to people who are my own men & go in & out to the General where some of them are repaving a road. And my Coy photographed about 220 including C.O.'s officers. A very clear night. Bought a German officer's revolver & dagger captured from a German officer at MONCHY by the Jocks. Wrote M & Jessie.
