rain. Very lucky escape on way back nearly ran into a motor bike. My men have again been shelled after tea - Webb took me over to SAINS to see my late Battalion, the 10th D.C.L.I. Saw Major Bullen. Lieu Pethuif & Stanstreet & several of my old platoon. I was congratulated by Major Bullen & officers on the good work which they had some three military medals. I had a most enjoyable time, in fact, the happiest day in France. They are bound for YPRES. Good luck to them. Letter from Jessie, very busy.

Mar 30th. Busy all day paying my men. Another parcel from Mrs Herman.

Mar 31st. Very busy on roads, wrote to Uncle Ben, the Dales, Mrs Herman & Jessie. V J Thunder storm, hail & rain.
