Dec 10th Sun In quarters - looked out of window & saw an official on horse back who I recognized to be another old friend who was with me in 1914 in the 8th D.C.L.I. He could not stop for lunch as he was on his way to a machine gun course but promised to take tea with me on the following day. 2nd Lieu. Argles now also att to the 6th D.C.L.I.

Dec 15th Went to Grand Bullecourt & ran into the 6th D.C.L.I. & saw L Prideaux Rome-Oates & Guy who were also with me in the 9th & 11th D.C.L.I. and 2nd Lieut. I also saw Colonel Stokes. We had a most ripping visit - & at the same time watching a most interesting fight with two German Taubes & our aeroplanes right up over us - the bursting of shells was most clear & on my way back I called at Liencourt to see some of my men & one of them was nearly hit by a nose cap which I have as a souvenir.
