after a very rough passage and reached Hospital Ship (lighted up)

Oct 5th Le Havre at 3:30 A.M. Walked to a Rest Camp - under canvas all along the railway- Good Y.M.C.A. 2 officers in a tent.

Oct 6th Capt. Williams & I walked into Le Havre and had dinner at the Officers Club.

Oct 7th Up at 5 A.M. Struck camp & left at 8 for the station - coffee - bread & butter at 10:45 A.M. Off at 11:40 - crawled out. Graville St. Hononne - poplars & fields. canal - camp - orchards - Harfleur - fine Church - ferns woods - St. Soureut-Gairneville 12-18.

A long goods train prevented me seeing the name of the next station Balbec (illegible) 1:25 P.M. Foucat. Alvimace Guelot large village. Motteville junction for Amiens Pavilly 2:30 Barentin then Rouen no stop - Darnetral Preau - Isneauville 5:10 P.M. A new line - (illegible) under the bridge - over the watershed of
