an inkling as to what day I would arrive. I worked to perfection - as you may judge. But I am wandering off the track.
I assure you it was a great satisfaction to receive your very kind message and to know I am not forgotten at the Bldgs. And you proved it in a very generous and thoughtful way in sending such a useful and also appetizing parcel of good things for Christmas. It came about two weeks ago. The horrible disaster at Halifax caused an insignificant delay in the overseas Christmas mail and we were only too willing to forget such an item as compares to the awfulness of the sufferings in that fateful city. We were highly delighted though when at last our letters & parcels did turn up & they were just as much appreciated.
Let me thank you thank you with all my heart for your dandy pair of socks, the sugar, and the chocolates - they were GREAT. I enjoyed them immensely, for we have very little sweet stuff in our rations. The food is excellent though and I think the troops
