Dearest Doods,

I have just got two letters from you, one Sept. 30th and the other October 8, thanks most awfully for them both, old girl, it was nice to hear all your news and to know that all's well with you in spite of the beastly raids etc. Can't tell you how sorry I was not to see you in town but it couldn't be helped under the circumstances we will make up for it next time!
