Dear Friend Fred,

I have got landed into another Hospital you will see by the address, I got through the operation, they took a piece of shrapnel out of the ankle. So I am progressing fine. By the Time you get this letter I will likly be on my sick leave or will be Training for another go at Fritz. I dont think I will be over there. before Cmas. I am not anxious to be there this winter.
