Y.M.C.A. WITH HIS MAJESTY'S CANADIAN FORCES ON ACTIVE SERVICE FOR GOD, FOR KING, AND FOR COUNTRY
WRITTEN AT WILLOWS CAMP 67 C.E.F. BATT 3 COMPANY
Dear Fred
Thank you for taking the trouble to write a copy of the letter from the Department of Finance. I have made the payments in full & the bank (N.C.) here has them in safe keeping. I have in my posession a receipt from them for the Delivery (whem called for) of 4 Script's either to me or you. My present intention is to let them stay here incase I should need money when we are about to leave I will have the scripts sent to you or to N.C. Bank at Quesnell which ever is best & send you the receipt calling for delivery to you or me. Personaly I dont think we shall leave here till March 1st Because our climate is perhaps the best & cheapest to keep troops in Canada in the winter 2 Wont there be so many troops called up now in Britian (under Derbys schem) as to make barracks scarce.
I am not sure wether I wrote to you since Xmas or have only thought of it. J Murphy & I went out to Harry Helgesons for 4 days & had a real good time. Just as we were rushing up street to get the auto car to take us out we met Mrs Davis
