Dear Mother:-

I thought perhaps I had better write for a change. Vernon and Bert will be here today with the 68th Battery. Ellen arrived Saturday and I met her with the car. Much to Ellies joy. She certainly is some child. I got a letter from Price a little while ago and am answering it. I was leaving for Winnipeg Monday but the Col. could not get another man to drive the car. The Empress of China is just coming in the harbour now. I can see her from the place where I am
