I went to bed early on Tuesday night in hope of getting a good sleep, but about 10 o'clock the fire alarm sounded and everybody had to turn out. I was wakened and scrambled out half dressed. Some of the fellows just put on their great coats, without getting dressed. We were doubled over to the hospital, which is only a block away, where the chemical shack was going up in smoke. It was only a garage so we stood and watched it burn. The noise of the trumpets
