Dearest Mother & Father -

Your letter of Dec 23 arrived last night also one from Ellen I was awfully glad to get them as they are the first to come through to me here the last one I had from you was written in Nov - so some of them must have gone astray.

Ellen got a rumour that I had TB & all sorts of things & she also said that Father & Arthur were going to try and get me home -
