Dearest Mother.

Elizabeths & Vernons letters arrived to-day and I was very glad to hear from you all again. Hastings is a fine place to soldier in. We are living right on the sea front in empty apartment house it is quite a change after the ordinary camps a fellow gets into. Did I tell you that Joyce Richmond was here, she has a little boy to look after now, but she is looking fine
