Dear Dodie:
As you said in your letter of Nov. 12 I did not expect to hear from you but yours was one of the first I received and it was much appreciated I hope mother has told you before this that I received it safely. Letters are one of our chief joys in life.
Your stories have gone the rounds and were loudly applauded, you can see that among officers a new story is a thing of value, as after me telling my old ones ten times some inconsiderate people began to make remarks when I stated to tell one again.
Your remarks on the dancer and description of the entertainment given and received by the vaudeville artists I screamed over. We will be like a lot of school boys when we get out of this the least thing will amuse us
