this year and had very little comfort given them in this panik. Meantime the Bill which was going before the Committee is held up and I fear will not be heard of again. I hope that this will not be disappointing to your Dad . . as to whose unlfam[?] I should have a keen solicitude. As I said our days are exciting ones owing to the political uncertainties and as the tomorrows are appearing and days are brighter, the [?] of the [?] seem on[?] them dreary and one sighs and wishes for the [illegible] the fields and the outside world. I am glad to see that life goes on [illebible] for you. What a great thing it is to enjoy all the bright things
