London, it is too d____d expensive and I hate long hours in a London office. I hear Mrs. B's concert was magnificent. Coni and [illegible] are in great form and very busy amusing themselves. Scandal in London is noticeable by its absence, possibly it is so well hidden that we fail to hear about it; for everyone's sake let us hope so, or it would be a dull world. Dr. Dolby appeared yesterday, looking older and thinner and rather grey, but otherwise just the same; he has done d____d well. Violet Sweeney and other well known B.C. ladies are now in khaki driving
