Harry Folkes has gone on leave and I am busy doing Brigade Major as well as my own work. He is to meet his family Pa Ma & Betty [illegible] who arrive (or have arrived) whilst he is on leave.

The rain & wind in the trenches are awful. After 13 months of trenches I find this [illegible] a perfect paradise.
