My dear Dode,
Ever so many thanks for your letter of 8th June which has at last turned up after following me all round England. It was most awfully good of you to write and I did appreciate it. I could not think who was writing me from the B of m Vancouver & I can assure you it was a very great surprise when I opened the letter & saw it was from you.
