My dear Mother,

Many thanks for your cheery and interesting letter of the 27th Feb. Send me another one. As you have lots of friends writing to you from the continent you will have had all the news. Heard four landing etc. My dear don't ever you wish to see this kind of life. It is just like waiting for certain death because that is just about what it is.
