Just a card to say that I am alive & very fit. I am writing this from the firing line where we have been for some days. The Germans are just in front of us & we are enjoying ourselves like sand boys. I love the cows & chickens but this is the life. Gordon is in great form & sends all kind of messages. My Regt. No: is 76279 D Coy. I am in Mr. Pooleys Co. I am wearing your mitts & muffler every night & she is cold here in the mornings. I will send you a letter when I get a chance. I know I have been a swine for not writing before but please forgive. Best and love dear old girl & send a card along. from A.H. FitzGerald
