Tues 7 Nov Rained hard - Trenches going in

Wed 8th Rained hard at night and still raining. Trenches and dug outs - falling very bad. After attg HQ made a trip with Sgt Ellis to Kellet L and soon found myself over my knees

Thurs 9 Took advance party into our old lines in Souchez sector. Bright sun but very muddy

unlimited mud and water

12 Novr Changed lines with A Co. Very pleasant to get back to these quarters.

13 Novr Still fine - everyone resting this morning - badly needed

14 Novr Tues Fine weather and conditions much better but most of us feeling pretty poorly
