My dear Lindley

This is only a line to cover some pages from one of my field message books. They will convey very little to you but I should like them preserved. We have just had a little service here; not very inspiring but still the fault of that really lies with oneself.

It is very misty on account of the new mildness which is releasing the moisture so long held in the ground by severe frost.
