Camp Borden June 16, 1917

Dear People:

It is so long since I have written that I am completely ashamed of myself, but really "there's a reason". Some of us who are more advanced in the art and science of flying have been having a very busy and very interesting time of it lately. For the past 3 weeks we have been on courses of Aerial Gunnery and Artillery Observation. They really have some of the most ingenious apparatus for training and I have done quite a lot of firing machine guns from an aeroplane and sending wireless messages to ground stations. Though all this is novel and very interesting our hours were long and constant what with practical work and the study we put on the subjects involved we worked, quite often, as much as 18 hours of the twenty-four, so you see
