In the Field June 25,1918
Dearest Mother,
Here we are on the old front again, having been moved back after a stay of sixteen days at the other place. In that period we downed 28 Hun machines! Two of our Flight Commanders were awarded the Distinquished Flying Cross over that show. One of them is my own Captain LeBlanc Smith, and the other is a Canadian by the name of Hubbard, which name is the same as that of our Major.
Four of your letters - nos. 33 to 36 - have reached me since I last wrote. As I forgot
