The Huns have never bombed this aerodrome, though they have dropped their "eggs" on a town less than ten miles east of here. I guess they have never discovered us, so we live in peace o'nights. We can hear the big guns, of course, and at night can sometimes see them flashing.
I am writing this on my bed and my pen is dry so please excuse the pencilled scrawl. Tommy is sitting on his bed, next mine, writing to his best girl in Canada and the other two chaps are reading so all is quiet but the gale which is blowing without and driving a fine rain before it. This is a real "dud" day, and is a day of rest for the R.F.C.
