going without him in his regular place. The F. C. told him he thought that he (Pat) had had enough for that day; but Pat wasn't having any of that and insisted on going up on his regular duties. As the result of a piece of bad judgment on the part of the leader of the patrol, they got into a scrap against odds of 20 to 8.
