Jimmy Gray, a Victoria boy. I believe the boat we go over on carries a number of officers going back to duty after leave in Canada. Our bunch are all nice fellows so we ought to have a pleasant trip.
I rather expect we will be kept in England the greater part of the winter, being sent to France in the spring when activities commence after the winters "digging in". If only the Italians keep up the good work and the Russians wake up again I don't think there will be much to do next spring but clean upon the Western front.
By the way, Mother, don't forget that little idea of yours of sending me loaf sugar while in England. I hear it is a very scarce article over there now, and one requires a certain amount of sugar in this game as it is an energy producer more than a tissue builder.
There is nothing more I can think of to tell you this time so good-bye for the present. Will write again in a day or so.
