8 o'clock to open up their place of business and sauntering home again about 5 p.m. everyone taking life as if was meant to be one of enjoyment as well as business. They have none of the bustle the Americans have got and directly a man makes a few dollars the family gets most ridiculously stuck up [?] as the best families in Victoria today are mere English & Scotch labourers who have been fortunate enough to strike a gold mine. They won't notice or look at a guiltman and his family who have been less fortunate so much for the almighty dollar. Gold is king here as else where. Victoria B.C Nov 20th .92 Finis.
