two fingers of my left hand they bleed a good lot but bandaging them up tight causes the blood to stop flowing and with care will be alright again shortly. Camp is fixed by 2 p.m. July 29th. Packed grub from Divide some of the others making a trail towards Battles Lake; most inconvenient working with my sore fingers every time I make a grab at a twig they start to bleed again. July 30th. Take a load ahead to Battles Lake; and come back empty we have to drop 3000 ft between our present camp and Battles in 3 miles ; which is quite a hill to get down & up; July 31th. Make some sketches today; two of the packers arrive; others are hunting ; the usual thing of the Sunday is not " walking in the [?]" but washing clothes.
