July 4th. Pack up to top of "Divide" (dividing the water one stream flowing South other North). Where we camp at 8 p.m. among rock as level place at all for the tents make our our beds as best we can; very cold up here as we are now 6500 ft above sea level and getting above the timber line , consequently fire wood is very scarce. July 5th. Most of hands are exploring for passes thro the mountains; the two chain men go on their own look up a high mountain and write their names on the mount nearly 7000 ft up the two [?] the words G.C. and Tipperary
